A cybersecurity training LMS that proves people learned, in class and at work

Safock built a cybersecurity and AI training LMS for a company that teaches both subjects. The platform teaches through short video lessons, checks understanding with graded quizzes, and issues certificates anyone can verify through a public link. It is live at a university, where students use it in class, and at a utility, where it trains the workforce.

01The challenge

Security training that nobody could prove had worked

Most students and employees will never become security specialists, and they do not need to. They need to recognise risk before they click a link, share a file or sign a document.

Typical security training misses that goal in familiar ways. The content is generic, so people drift off before the end. Progress is hard to see. Finishing a course leaves no evidence that the person understood any of it.

The admin side makes it worse. Schools and companies usually run this training through emails, spreadsheets and several separate tools, so a simple question such as who has finished means stitching records together by hand.

The client needed lessons, quizzes, certificates and tracking in one system, with proof at the end of every course.

02The solution

One five-step loop for every learner

The platform runs the same loop for a student on campus and an employee at a utility.

It starts with placement. A short quiz at sign-up puts each learner on a beginner, intermediate or expert path. Lessons are organised by topic, then folder, then video. Streaming adapts to the connection, with resume and auto-advance, and progress saves while people watch, so a learner can stop mid-lesson and return to the same point.

Watching earns nothing on its own. Course quizzes mix multiple choice, true or false and short answer questions, with a pass mark and a limit on attempts. Passing triggers a PDF certificate, and each certificate has a public verification link that an employer, or anyone else, can open to confirm it is real.

  1. 01

AssignAn instructor or company admin gives learners their courses, or an individual picks a path.

  2. 02

LearnShort, practical video lessons in a clear structure.

  3. 03

AssessA quiz at the end of each course checks understanding.

  4. 04

CertifyA certificate is issued only after the learner passes.

  5. 05

TrackAdmins see who has enrolled, who is in progress and who is done.

03How it works

In the classroom at a university

At the university, the platform works as a classroom and skills platform. Instructors publish topics and lessons, and students follow a set path instead of hunting through shared folders for files.

Quizzes confirm that students understood the material as well as watched it, and certificates give them proof they can share. Staff see enrolment, progress and completion for every student. Campus training ends up with the same content, the same checks and the same records for everyone.

04How it works

Cybersecurity training for a utility's workforce

The utility uses the platform to train its employees. A company joins as a partner, gets its own admin area, and rolls training out in five steps.

Partners can publish courses that only their own staff see, and decide which email domains are allowed to join. Billing works two ways. The company can prepay for seats, or each employee can subscribe under the company's account. Welcome, inactivity, quiz-passed and signing-pending emails go out automatically.

  1. 01

Choose courses on phishing, passwords, social engineering, data protection, AI awareness and related topics.

  2. 02

Invite employees by email or with a bulk Excel upload.

  3. 03

Assign the training, plus any compliance documents staff need to read and sign.

  4. 04

Track enrolment, progress, quiz results and certificates.

  5. 05

Follow up with anyone who has not finished, using reminder emails.

05How it works

Four roles and the admin tools behind them

Role-based access gives each person the tools for their job and nothing beyond it.

Individual learners can also join directly. The library has free and premium lessons, and a monthly or yearly plan opens the full premium library.

  1. 01

Students and employees watch lessons, take quizzes, download certificates and sign assigned documents.

  2. 02

University staff publish courses, guide learners and review completion.

  3. 03

Company admins invite employees, assign training, track progress and run reminders.

  4. 04

Super admins manage content, users, partners, quizzes, certificates, leads, billing setup and platform reports from one dashboard.

06The outcome

Running in a university and a utility

The platform runs in two live deployments. University students learn on it in class, and the utility assigns and tracks employee training on it. Both run the same assign, learn, assess, certify and track flow on the same platform.

For the people responsible for training, the change is in the evidence. Every certificate means a learner passed a graded quiz, and anyone can check it through a public link. Admins see who is done and who needs a reminder without opening a spreadsheet.

The client can now sell one product to two very different buyers: a university that teaches in class, and an employer that wants a record of which staff completed security training.

/ FAQ

About this project

Can Safock build a cybersecurity LMS like this for our organisation?

Yes. Safock builds learning platforms for universities, training providers and companies, and this one serves a classroom and a workforce on the same platform. Your course formats, roles, billing model and integrations drive the cost and timeline, and we give a fixed quote after discovery. You own the code and receive full documentation.

How does the platform decide which level a learner starts at?

A short placement quiz at sign-up puts each learner on a beginner, intermediate or expert path. Lessons are then organised by topic, folder and video, and progress saves while the learner watches. Each course ends with a graded quiz with a pass mark and an attempt limit, and a pass issues a PDF certificate with its own public verification link.

Can a company pay for its employees' training seats?

Yes. A partner company can prepay for seats, or each employee can subscribe under the company's account. The company admin invites staff by email or bulk Excel upload, decides which email domains may join, and sees enrolment, progress, quiz results and certificates for the whole team. Reminder emails go to anyone who has not finished.
